Awesome app... I'm a ham in the US and have made contact to hams in Southern Ireland, New Zealand, England and several States in the US. My only gripe is that I wish it worked when my phone (Note 8) is on my mobile network. currently it only works when it's connected to WiFi. Other than that, no complaints! Also, I have run it on my Acer Chromebook with no issues... Keep up the good work!
*Pros* Simple design. Easy to use. Fun on the go for day to day when you don't have an ht or mobile with you. Great EDC as long as you have Wi-Fi or good cell signal. *Cons* Minimizing the app (swapping between another app and EchoLink) on your cell can boot you off stations. Need constant "on" option. Maybe I missed it somewhere in the settings. Attempting to login to a server will have an error message (such with ECR), yet the room isn't full. After multiple attempts, I finally get access. 73
After numerous issues with the computer version, and the apparent absence of updates. I installed this on three of my devices. While I haven't used it much yet, it seems to work fine. I can only connect via proxy however It won't connect via direct or relay, at least not on my network. I have used Echolink pretty much since it was first released, on my computer, I don't if a revised Windows 10 version is coming in the future or not. We shall see what happens going forward.
I am very pleased to have discovered EchoLink and this version for my Android phone. I have read through the reviews and there are some issues... but the fact that it works and gets me back on ham radio is an automatic 5 stars. Like many other users I would like more documentation but in a free app put together by volunteers one cannot be too fussy. In particular I'd like to know more about proxies and more about port forwarding. Thank you.
So far working well. Had a weird issue where I started setting up the app before getting all my info verified and the app wouldn't let me log in after I was 100% verified. It kept saying "Registering NULL" instead of my callsign. Clearing all data and resetting the app didn't fix it. After uninstalling then reinstalling, it finally let me login. So, get completely verified before attempting to login!
