Rachio is The Best Ever!💯 We had a Brand New Rainbird controller that broke the first time we tried to adjust the timers. Needed to adjust the Rachio Controlled Sprinklers and was easily able to run each zone for any amount of time I wanted. All with clicking single easy to find setting on the App!!!🥳 This put my Mind at ease for future adjustments if needed.🤩
I love being able to test my system while walking around my property and being able to stop & start it from my phone to make adjustments. As well as being tied into my local weather to stop or run depending on my actual weather. Also being able to run the system even when you aren't home, for example if you're traveling and you see your home area may need more watering, you can activate your system from anywhere!
in depth visibility of most every parameter allowing flexibility and control. The only downside is that the unit occasionally drops Wifi, although that has improved greatly, as of late. You have to be in front of the panel to fix this but it's relatively easy. New features have been added and it's even more "intelligent". It's worth the price of admission.
You asked how I'm liking the app while in the middle of checking a zone without letting me skip: If the predicted rain amount is less than an a quarter of what the irrigation is scheduled to water, don't skip the watering. I live in TX. Aug is the hottest month of the year. Despite this, Rachio decided to do a seasonal shift, reducing the amount of water going into Aug. When selecting a popular nozzle, like the hunter MP rotator, the rate is 0.4 in an hour, not 0.8. Just rained 3in, didnt skip.
I have had to set up so many new schedules to stop this app from just automatically changing my schedule based on whatever it thinks my yard needs. It can't see my yard. I have turned off every automated change I can find and it still updates it for no reason and then I have to create a new schedule. I don't usually rate apps but this one is horrible.
