This app's conversation function was amazing, especially in school settings with so many languages in one classroom. I have a friend that speak Egyptian Arabic and it translated the context very well while it also translated to Russian and Spanish and Dutch at the same time. Unfortunately the conversation function no longer works. It's writes it all in English. I saw many complaints from educators with no response from Microsoft. It's super disappointing it's not supported anymore.

I've been using Translator for 3 years I've lived in Ukraine. I've had do uninstall and reinstall every now & then when it decides to stop working and blames network connection, but it has suddenly made that its default -- I can no longer use its speech translation feature; just unavailable. It has done this without explanation (other than always blaming the network). I can use the text translation, but I really need the speech mode to talk to a cab driver.

Disappointing experience overall. The app often struggles to hear or recognize speech, even in a quiet environment. Voice input misses words or doesn’t pick up anything at all, which makes real-time conversations frustrating. Translation can be useful when it works, but if it can’t reliably hear what’s being said, it defeats the purpose. Needs major improvement in microphone detection, speech recognition, and consistency. Not dependable when you actually need quick communication

EDIT: Is there an older version I can grab?? I can't believe they updated it to being unusable then stopped updating it altogether. Please tell me that a fix to this is coming! No longer are there any contextual definitions for the word being provided. This app is now terrible!! What have you done to it?!?! Microsoft has really been going downhill lately... Listen to your other users. Bring back the old version or seriously work on this one. EDIT: Very disappointed. Uninstalling.

App translates to the printed word and the spoken word as spoken, for example, by a Spanish speaking person right away. And with no ads. It does English to Spanish or Spanish to English. So, two foreigners can quickly have a dialogue with each other. Just select the "to" and "from" languages and press the microphone button and it instantly translates. Then press the reverse button for the other person to speak back to you in their native language. And it does at least 48 languages.
