Horrible app setup. I have wasted 30 minutes and it keeps failing. It's trying to connect to the garage door WIFI so I can complete the setup. So far I have had to repeat every step of registration, verification of email and trying to connect to the device's WIFI 3 TIMES! It's a fail, 3 strikes! Fire the coding people and start over. I'll search for a better app after I'm not soooo frustrated.
It was easy to setup, works great. I got this setup for my garage door originally because i was having issues with remotes and wanted to get rid of them. I mostly use the app when I'm commuting to/from work on a motorcycle. Sometimes the "hold to open/close" button is hard to press with gloves. The button will either think im trying to swipe or won't register a press. It'd be nice if there was a swipe to open/close option. Not a defect. Just a minor inconvenience.
Has been very reliable in use. Supposedly has a history log, but it's well hidden. Just wish my Genie garage opener wasn't such a huge step down from my former Chamberlain opener. No motion detection in the garage to turn the light on when someone walks in, have to enter the door code just to close it. Sure, the WiFi feature is cool, but I gave up far more useful and practical options in return.
Garbage app! This app is extremely slow to respond. Even when I’m standing outside my house with a very strong Wi-Fi signal and excellent cellular service, it can take several minutes before the app connects and allows me to open the door. An app that controls entry to a home should connect quickly and reliably, but this one frequently leaves you waiting.
Garage door has been broken for 3 months. Aladdin connect keeps saying they are escalating the call, and they will call me back shortly. The follow up rarely happens, and we repeat the cycle of trying everything, then escalating. They need to look up the definition of escalation, it DOES NOT mean "we can't figure it out, they calling us back in a few days and then we'll do this dance again. I'm starting to feel like I'm on a prank show. Get it together Aladdin. Also shortly doesn't = never.
