Works well when it lets you log in, which is only 10% of the time. Other 90% is either being told your login info is wrong (it's not) or it just hangs in the Signing in screen. I had to delete/reinstall the app AND reset my password just to get it to let me back in, even though my PW never changed... Update 2023... Just as terrible. It can easily tell when the car is in use or not but starting it remotely, even standing right beside it, is next to an impossible task for Volvo. Update 2025: same.
Not a single function on this app works. It has never worked and it will probably continue to never work. It cannot remote start climate. It can't unlock the doors. And it sure as hell has no idea how long it will take to charge the car. Not one single thing about this app works correctly. I find it astonishing that a company could release an app with ZERO functioning features.
I find it hard to renew this APP when it expires. I have had BMW'S before I got my Volvo. BMW charges for certain things, like Traffic etc. But, once it expires you still keep Remote access and all functions to lock, remote start. For a brand to be one of the safest something at least like locking and unlocking doors without APP should be standard just for safety. I will get an Adapter and use Android auto instead of renewing.
App shows the car is offline since last night. Used the car twice today including audio apps (so obviously not offline). Tried the help feature within the app and that froze up. This is my first Volvo. For as good as the cars are, the app makes me want to go back to Honda CRV. The app is the only way to remote start the car and it's useless.
This app is mainly a way for the company to serve you ads and track you. Most of the app is taken up by things they would like to sell you. The few useful functions are gated and you have to turn on data sharing before they let you use them. It's not enough you bought a car from them for tens of thousands. They want your mobile data too. It's crazy how much companies are desperate for your data. In closing the app is not good. It's a really nice car though
