I really enjoy this app for identifying critters and uploading photos and sounds. It is quite accurate on most things. The most frustrating thing while using it is after a few identifications it will stop working. like if I am identifying someone elses observation, it won't go through sometimes. or if I am uploading a photo for identification, sometimes it won't load the suggestions. Or when I'm scrolling through the explore page, it will sometimes make my phone hot and crash. Also no dark mode

As much as I love the website, the app leaves much to be desired. I can essentially only post observations — attempting to see other posts, check notifications, edit observations, or anything else causes the app to immediately freeze and crash. I really wish it was more stable, I use the website all the time! I've changed phones too, and the problem continues...

I LOVE THIS APP! I wish everyone had it, and would be amazed by the fact that nearly every ant, fly, flower, blade of grass has a name and story! It would be fun if it was more game-ified I wish there was a little more social aspect, I'd love to be more able to follow my friends and see what they've been recording/observing, and help ID! I couldn't find a way on the app to follow friends, but found them online, but then there doesn't seem to be any benefit once you're back on the app.

Can upload, but viewing & identifying are almost completely nonfunctional! It freezes after trying to identify more than one or two observations. Why are the app versions both so bad? I used to do a lot of identification and I can't anymore. Not only that, but Explore is also buggy and slow! Even small searches load infinitely. I know it's a small team but it's like half the function of the app has just failed. Get it together.

Updated review - unfortunately as a daily user of the app for the past 3 years, it has become increasingly glitchy. You can still upload observations, but anything beyond that (exploring, identifying) results in frequent crashes after only a few records (often less than 10!) despite phone restarts, clearing the cache, etc. It is basically useless for identifying observations, so you are limited to identifying to when you are at a computer. Major opportunity loss for the platform.
