It's great for learning anywhere and developing career skills. I like that even if you can't buy the certificate, you can still download your learner record and proof that you completed certain courses. One thing I'd like to suggest is the ability to bookmark courses for later. This would really elevate the experience by making it easy to return to courses that you don't necessarily want to do instantly.
Like everything today cause everyone is so greedy now, my most hated thing about this app......... is the stupid ad's. Also, they could do a better job on Android with how to save the courses you want to take. I've been having to click the course and start it then exit it so it'll save and so I can easily access it again. Maybe add the ability to make a playlist, save list or save for later category so I can easily find it when I want to do it. Giving 1 star purely for the annoying ads.
This app and website has so much potential, but falls short because of a lack of upkeep and outdated material. For example, Alison offers CompTIA A+ courses, however the courses that they offer are outdated by 10+ years and at least 2 test revisions. This is irresponsible, as someone could end up wasting money to take the CompTIA tests after passing the course, but still be completely unprepared for the updated material. Some courses are very good, but the Alison team should do better.
Slow all the way around!! It doesn't matter if I use the app or the website! It's constantly lagging and The quality of the videos is hit or miss.. and most of the courses won't help in obtaining an actual career.. while there are a few courses on here that can help with up-skilling.. I wish there were more legitimate course options.. more certifications, etc..
I couldn't just search available courses, I had to complete a questionnaire so courses could be suggested. The questionnaire requires a specific number of items for each question, but a lot of options didn't suit me. I focused on business and IT items, but it had no courses to suggest based on my selections. My suggestion is to add an option to bypass the questionnaire and search for courses.
