works fine for trains, but I live in an area where I need to take the bus to the train, and the app has been consistently useless for this ever since the redesign. it tells me the next bus is in 20-40 mins, but when I check google maps for the same stop it always tells me there's one coming in half that time, and it's always been right. Not entirely useless, but I've hardly had a reason to touch it lately
I like that I can see nearby trains or buses, but when I move, I have to move tracker and it doesn't update my location. so I have to close and reopen app for it to pick up my current location and show me what's in the area. Other apps do this already, show you all connects, bus and train together, including walking directions to each location. But this is NYC MTA, everything must be frustratingly complicated.
This update is the worst. You guys took a simplified platform and overcomplicated it beyond comprehension. Time is of thr essence when trying to learn the next available train/bus. It is so hard to navigate and find specific things. What if I'm searching for a train that is not in my immediate area? App developers.....you really dropped the ball here.
They are using your location to determine whether or not you "bought a ticket on time" and arbitrarily hit you with a surcharge, even if the "mistake" is on their end. DO NOT ALLOW THIS APP TO USE YOUR LOCATION!!! But the biggest scam off all is their new fake rewards system, where they make it literally impossible to ever earn a free ticket by resetting your purchases every two weeks. One peak ticket gives you a point, then you have 10 days max (in their predetermined window) to buy 9 more.
This was a 4 star app until it's recent update. They fixed what wasn't broken. I don't want to be forced to have my gps on, clicking no thanks does nothing it won't let you proceed further until you do. Also navigating the app is a mess. Why can't I just browse train routes and the different stops along it. Where are my favs? Very disappointed and will be uninstalling and going back to the transit app. Sometimes less is more
